New Puzzle card launches from Australia’s Mystery Unfolds
Perth, Western Australia-based puzzle creators, Mystery Unfolds, are looking for puzzle enthusiasts to help us test a new puzzle card, Temple of the Wurm, before its public release.
What is a Puzzle Card?
A puzzle card is an escape room experience in a birthday card. The recipient doesn’t get their gift until they’ve solved the mystery within. A puzzle card can add a new dynamic to gifting, or simply be experienced as a fun, standalone puzzle. They can be solved alone for a challenge or for fun with friends.
Mystery Unfolds has been making puzzle experiences since 2020. Help us deliver the best experience we can by testing our cards.
NEW Prototype Puzzle Card: Temple of the Wurm
Difficulty: Medium (probably)
Temple of the Wurm is an ideal gift for a fan of D&D, high fantasy, space wurms, and ancient secret societies.
“After days of travelling to the furthest depths of this perilous, trap-laden, dungeon, you enter a large cavern with a huge door at the end of the room.
Passing rows of supplicant acolytes in odd yoga poses, you realise on approach that it's not a door, but a dusty apparatus - so huge that it extends neatly to the end of your vision.
An impossible object seeming to bend in on itself - covered in hinged panels and segments, it appears capable of folding, collapsing, and shifting to expose further treasures.”
Temple of the Wurm is suitable for someone who:
is competent in English
likes a moderate challenge
enjoys a fantasy setting

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s a puzzle card?
A puzzle card is an escape room experience in a Birthday card. The recipient doesn’t get their gift until they’ve solved the puzzle within. The recipient must look for clues in the scene inside, solve a series of puzzles, and then arrive at a final answer.A “prototype”? Does that mean it won’t look that nice?
All finished puzzle card designs are hand-drawn and printed onto recycled paper so there’s always the occasional crease or line out of place, but you can be confident they’ll look nice. Our prototype cards, are about ~90% the quality of the finished product, and we make sure they look great.I have multiple people I could gift this to, can I have multiple cards?
Maybe. If you are in need of multiple cards, please leave your request in the comment field provided. Depending on demand, we may not be able to deliver on requests for multiple cards.
Do I need to give this to someone as a gift?
No, you do you not. If you would like to give this card to yourself and enjoy the puzzle-solving experience yourself, then go right ahead and do so.Can I also have one of your other puzzle cards for free?
No. 😅When will my card be delivered?
If you are selected, you’ll receive an email containing digital files in in mid/late March. If you’ve secured a physical card (as a Patreon supporter of an appropriate tier), I’ll be in touch to confirm an expected delivery date. For whatever reason, I need to get the card sooner - is that possible?
Unlikely, but we’ll see what we can do. Fill out the form above and add a note in the comment section of your submission.
