New Puzzle card launches in Inglewood and Surrounding Suburbs

Inglewood-based puzzle creators, Mystery Unfolds, are looking for puzzle enthusiasts to help us test a new puzzle card, Reindeer on a Chandelier, before its public release. Beneath the shade of the Inglewood clock tower, our business received its very first customers, so when we prototype our new cards, we look for feedback from our local followers.

What is a Puzzle Card?

A puzzle card is an escape room experience in a birthday card. The recipient doesn’t get their gift until they’ve solved the mystery within. A puzzle card can add a new dynamic to gifting, or simply be experienced as a fun, standalone puzzle. They can be solved alone for a challenge or for fun with friends.

Mystery Unfolds has been making puzzle experiences since 2020. Help us deliver the best experience we can by testing our cards.

 Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What’s a puzzle card?
A puzzle card is an escape room experience in a Christmas card. The recipient doesn’t get their gift until they’ve solved the puzzle within.

  2. A “prototype”? Does that mean it won’t look that nice?
All finished puzzle card designs are hand-drawn and printed onto recycled paper so there’s always the occasional crease or line out of place, but you can be damn sure they look nice. Our prototype cards, are about 80-90% the quality of the finished product and will go through a few additional alignment and linework tweaks. They still look great though, if we do say so.

  3. I have multiple people I could gift this to, can I have multiple cards?

If you are in need of multiple cards, please leave your request in the comment field provided. Depending on demand, we may not be able to deliver on requests for multiple cards.

  4. Do I need to gift this as a Christmas card?
You certainly do not. While it does heighten the stakes to receive a puzzle card and be told you won’t get your Christmas gift until you’ve solved the puzzle, this card can be experienced on its own as a fun stand-alone puzzle.

  5. Can I also have one of your other puzzle cards for free?
No. But you can always buy a card. In fact, use the code “IMFROMTHEWOOD“ to have your card hand-delivered and avoid the shipping fee.

  6. What age range is this card most suitable for?
This card will be most enjoyed by those who can read basic English, and follow cryptic instructions, and recognise patterns. It does not contain any violent, graphic, or sexual content. Based on the difficulty, we’d say 8+ but if you’re unsure if it’s appropriate for a younger person, request one anyway, then participate in our follow-up survey so that you can help us better display the age-appropriateness of this card in the future.

  7. When will my card be delivered?
We’ll hand-deliver your card on the weekend of for 23-24 December. If you’ve signed up to our Patreon, your card will arrive Friday, 22nd December or sooner.
